Firehawks Finish Third in Shortened Whistling Straits Championship

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's golf claimed a third-place finish in the Whistling Straits Championship on Tuesday. UTS ended day one in third place just 16 strokes behind Cumberlands. Harsh weather conditions plagued the squads and made the course treacherous.

Cumberlands led the field with a score of 323 (+35), while Javan Johnson, of Taylor University, captured the top podium spot with a 78 (+6) scorecard.

Jacob Wilson led the Firehawk effort firing an opening round of 83. UTS began day two in the third position, but play would be suspended and the final round would be canceled.
