Brown, Hudson, and Vance Reach Double Figures, No. 7 Firehawks Stumble to Crusaders

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team fell behind early but battled back to some up short in a 76-69 loss to William Carey on Thursday. UT Southern (23-3, 17-1) fell behind early trailing 10-4 in the opening five minutes. William Carey (17-7, 12-5) led 33-26 at the break.

The Firehawks would open up the second half with a 12-0 run to lead 38-33 with 16 minutes left in the game. The Crusaders would come off the deck and retake the lead with seven minutes remaining. WCU would extend the lead out to eight with less than a minute to play. Three Firehawks added double figures to the scoring column. Adarion Hudson led all scorers with 25 points and eight assists. Brady Brown tossed in 16 points. Mark Vance pitched in 10 points.

The Crusaders outrebounded the Firehawks 32-29.

NEXT UP

UT Southern will travel to New Orleans, La., facing Loyola on February 17th. The matchup between the Firehawks and WolfPack will tipoff at 2 p.m. UTS defeated LU in Pulaski 69-58 earlier in the season.
