Hudson Leads the Way With 17, Firehawks Stay Perfect in SSAC Play

MARIETTA, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team tied the longest, known, program win streak of 16 games with an 78-71 win over Life on Saturday. Four Firehawks scratched the scorecard with double figures. Adarion Hudson led the Firehawks with 17 points and four assists. Brandon Brown added 13 points. Tad Sivley added a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Kendall Wright added 10 points and four rebounds.

UT Southern (20-2, 14-0) shot 41 percent, 13 of 32 from the field in the first half. Brandon Brown scored 11 of his 13 during the opening 20 minutes. Life (15-8, 9-6) hung with the Firehawks leading in the early going. UTS and LU traded the lead until just before the under six media time out when the Firehawks would begin to pull away. UTS led 37-28 at the break.

In the final half, the #10 Firehawks would continue to pull away leading by nine for most of the half. Life would make a run in the final minute trailing by three. A pair of crucial stops sealed the "W" for the Firehawks. The good guys would light the nets on fire shooting 49 percent, 16-33 from the field. The Firehawks outrebounded the Runnin' Eagles 36-29.

NEXT UP

UT Southern will continue the road trip traveling to Dalton, Ga., to rumble with Dalton State on Saturday, February 3th. The Firehawks and Roadrunners will tipoff at 1 p.m. UTS defeated DSC 63-57 in Pulaski earlier this season.
