Brown Explodes for 25 Points and 10 Rebounds, No. 18 Firehawks Best Barons

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball kept their winning streak alive, extending it to 15 in-a-row powered by a 73-59 win over Brewton-Parker on Saturday.  

UT Southern (19-2, 13-0) opened up with an 11-0 lead over Brewton-Parker in the early going. Just before the first media timeout, UTS would stretch the lead out to the largest of the game at 18-1. The Barons would out score the Firehawks 22-11 over the final 12 minutes of the first half. UTS led 29-23 at the break. Brady Brown led the Firehawks with 17 first half points.

In the final half, UTS would benefit from aggressive defensive pressure by BPC. The Firehawks would make 22 trips to the charity stripe, connecting on 17. Brewton-Parker outshot UT Southern 55 to 54 percent in the final half. Kendall Wright would pace the home team with 10 points in the final 20 minutes. UTS out rebounded BPC 40-32 in the win.

Brown finished with 25 points and 10 boards. Wright ended up with 14 points.

NEXT UP

UT Southern will close out January with a trip to Life on Wednesday, the 31st. The Firehawks and Runnin' Eagles will clash at 6:30 p.m. The teams met earlier this season in Pulaski, UTS defeated Life 74-71.
