Brown and Brown lead No. 18 UT Southern to a Comeback over Stillman

PULASKI, Tenn. – In a game that would see more t-birds (technicals) whistled than the number of new Ford vehicles of the same name sold since 2005, the University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team weathered a 20-point deficit early blazing back to win 85-70 over Stillman on Tuesday. Stillman (10-7, 7-3) would begin the game on fire opening up a 29-9 lead with nine minutes left in the opening half. #18 UT Southern (17-2, 11-0) would shake the cold start and outscore the Tigers 24-10 to trail 39-34 at the break. UTS took their first lead in the game at the 1:50 mark.

In the final half, Stillman would begin on another run to try an give the Firehawks their first conference loss. UT Southern would steam roll the Tigers in the final half exploding for 50 final half points. UTS out rebounded SC 45-25 in the win. Brady Brown led all scorers with 20 points. Mark Vance added 13 points. Brandon Brown tossed in 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. CJ Greer also tallied 12 points. 

NEXT UP

UT Southern will host their second SSAC opponent of the week on Thursday, January 25th, when Middle Georgia State comes to town. The Firehawks and Knights will clash at 7:30 p.m. The teams met earlier this season in Cochran, Ga., UTS defeated MGSC 83-79.
