Wright and Hudson Combine for 28, Firehawks Fall Short to No. 10 Lions

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season in an 83-67 decision with #10 Freed-Hardeman on Tuesday. The Firehawks had two players reach double digits on the night.

Kendall Wright and Adarion Hudson led the UT Southern (1-1) in scoring, with a pair of 14-point contributions.

The Firehawks jumped out to an early 16-7 lead, but Freed-Hardeman (1-0) fought back to take the lead just before the second media timeout of the first half. Shooting woes plagued the Firehawks in a pivotal eight-minute stretch where FHU went on an 14-0 run.  The Loins would lead at the half 36-22.

Battling a 14-point halftime defect, would slowly chip away at the visitors lead. Titus Griffin would ignite the electric crowd draining three deep triples to pull UT Southern back to within four. CJ Wilson would tie the game at 55 with just over five minutes to play. In the final five minutes, untimely turnovers would allow the Loins to pull away again and survive the Firehawk challenge.
