Lions Big Second Half Grounds Firehawks

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball dropped its third straight falling 76-63 to #22 Freed on Thursday.

Kavion Hancock led all scorers with 16 points. Adarion Hudson added 10 points.

Freed started out on a 7-0 run, but the Firehawks would soar back to tie the game at 11 each nine minutes in the half. FHU would never trail in the first half as both teams would head to the locker room tied at 28.

The Firehawks would take the early lead in the final half. Both teams would trade the lead, but UTS would hold the lead for the first 10 minutes of the half. The game would be knotted up at 58 with four minutes to go, but FHU would pull away via an 18-5 run down the stretch.

UTS would shoot 22 of 50 for 44% from the field. There would be seven lead changes and 14 ties.

The Firehawks will return to the CAC for senior day as they host Bethel on Saturday, February 18th. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
