Three Firehawks Score Double Figures, Bears Hold on to Escape Firehawks

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball saw its five-game winning streak snapped in a defensive battle falling to Pikeville 72-69 on Saturday.

Adarion Hudson led the Firehawks with 16 points and nine assists. Kavion Hancock added 15 points. Kendall Wright pitched in 12 points.

Pikeville would take the early lead, but the Firehawks would battle back to trail by only one at the half.  UPike would take control of the second half leading 62-46 with over 10 minutes left to play. UTS would make a strong run to only trail 70-69 with under a minute to go. The Firehawks would have a chance with a ball on the rim to tie, but it wouldn't fall.

UTS would shoot 26 of 63 for 41% from the field. There would be 11 lead changes and six ties.

The Firehawks will continue to play at the Curry Athletic Complex hosting the Phoenix of Cumberland on Saturday, February 4th. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m
