Brown Leads All Scorers 19 Points, Firehawks Fall Short Against No. 15 Tigers

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball gave #15 Georgetown all they wanted in the CAC but fell late in an 80-73 result with the Tigers on Saturday.

Brady Brown led the Firehawks with 19 points. Tad Sivley and Kavion Hancock each threw in 15.

The Firehawks would hold a seven-point advantage when some strange activity occurred. With 1:17 left in the half, T-Birds would be flying around the CAC. Cam Welch picked up a personal foul that led to three consecutive Georgetown technical fouls. In the pandemonium, all eight free-shots would be made and the Firehawks would increase their lead to 45-34. The Tigers start hot with a 7-0 run to take the lead. Both teams would trade the lead back and forth until the final six minutes. GC would hold the lead to win the game, but the Firehawks would shave it down to a pair with just under four left.

UTS would shoot 26 of 60 for 43% from the field. There would be four lead changes and five ties.
