PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball got back in the win column with a 64-61 result with Cumberlands on Thursday.
Kavion Hancock led the Firehawks with 16 points. Kendall Wright added 13 points. Tad Sivley pitched in 12 points.
The Firehawks would jump to a 7-0 lead in the first four minutes, and UTS would lead 29-26 at the half. rail the Patriots 14-12 at the end of the first period. UTS would hold a 13-point advantage with just seven minutes left. UC would close the gap to 62-61 in the final 20 seconds. A pair of Wright free-throws would secure the three-point win.
UTS would shoot 21 of 52 for 40% of the field. There would be four lead changes and seven ties.
