Hancock Leads UTS Scoring 26, Firehawks Douse Phoenix

LEBANON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team stayed unblemished in MSC play in a 73-64 result with Cumberland on Tuesday.

Kavion Hancock led the Firehawks with 26 points. Brady Brown just missed a double-double adding 17 points and eight rebounds.

CU jumped out in front of the Firehawks enjoying an 11-point advantage early in the game. UTS would dial up the defense and go to the break-all square at 36. The Firehawks would match the Phoenix's largest lead of 11 just three minutes into the final half. CU would try to close the margin, but the good guys would bring the victory home to Pulaski.

UTS would shoot 23 of 50 for 46% from the field, and The Firehawks were deadly from range nailing 14 triples. There would be three lead changes and four ties.

The Firehawks will travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. for an MSC face-off with #2 Thomas More on Thursday, December 1st. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.
