Firehawks Conquest Blue Raiders

Columbia, Ky.- The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team swept the regular-season series with Lindsey Wilson with a 76-65 win on Thursday. With the win, the Firehawks moved into second in the MSC standings.

"We played well in the second half," said Coach Dugan Lyne. "Adarion was great and I thought Brady and Kavion gave us a boost after the half. Tonight was a total team effort on the defensive end down the stretch."

FIREHAWK FACTS

  • Three Firehawks recorded 10 points or more. Adarion Hudson 21, Brady Brown 18, Kavion Hancock 10.
  • UTS pulled down 31 rebounds, one more than the home squad.
  • The Firehawks would swipe seven 11, five more the Blue Raiders.

NUMBERS GAME

   8 – Eight players scored for UTS, with five scoring seven or more.

   9 – UTS had nine assists, one more than LWC.

 21 – Hudson's 21 points led all scorers. He passed former RedHawk James Justice's 1,138 points for third place in career points. Hudson currently has scored 1,142.

MSC TOURNAMENT

The Firehawks seed for the MSC tournament is still in the air. The top four seeds advance to quarterfinal action in Bowling Green, Ky. later next week. Seeds five-eight will host the lower four seeds. Tonight's win secured a berth into the quarterfinal round. 

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will close out the regular season in Lebanon, Tenn. on Saturday. The Firehawks and Phoenix will face off at 4 pm. UTS won the first meeting this season in Pulaski 77-68.
