Pikeville, Ky.- The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team blitzed Pikeville 80-65 on Thursday.

"We played well tonight", coach Dugan Lyne said. "Our offense fired on all cylinders and we executed well tonight. Kavion got us going early when we weren't hitting shots. We continued to move the ball and play unselfishly."

NUMBERS GAME

   7 – Seven players scored for UTS, with five scoring 11 or more.

 17 – UTS had 17 assists, six more than Pikeville.

 22 – Hancock's 22 points led all scorers, just four points shy of his season-high.  

 343 – Hudson is tied with former Redhawk great James Justice for most career assists.

  21 – Hudson is just 21 points away from becoming the fourth member of the 1,000-point club*. Since 2003, Kirk Newnham leads the list with 1,317, Ree McCrory checks in with 1,262, and Justice had 1,138. Both McCrory and Justice achieved this accolade in two seasons.

The Firehawks will travel to Williamsburg, Ky to face the Cumberlands. The Firehawks and Patriots will face off on Saturday, January 22 at 3 pm. UTS won the first meeting this season in Pulaski 64-61.
