Firehawks Fall to No. 17 Tigers

Georgetown, Ky.- The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team fell short at #17 Georgetown 79-74 on Saturday.

"I thought we played hard today, said Coach Dugan Lyne. "We made too many mistakes: untimely turnovers, missed boxouts, and a few missed layups. When you play a team of Georgetown's caliber on the road, you can't make those kinds of mistakes. " 

FIREHAWK FACTS

  • Three Firehawks recorded 10 points or more. Brady Brown 28, Adarion Hudson 13, Kavion Hancock 11.
  • UTS pulled down 25 rebounds, 12 boards short of the Tigers.
  • The Firehawks would record 11 steals, one more than GC.

NUMBERS GAME

   7 – Seven Firehawks scratched the scorecard, with five scoring seven or more.

 14 – UTS had 14 turnovers, three more than Georgetown

 42 – Firehawks connected on 10-of-24 triples, outshooting the Tigers 42% to 12%.

 28 – Brown led all scorers with 28 points, shooting 60% from the field.

957- Hudson's 13 points tonight moved him closer to 1,000 career points. He is just seven points shy of Assistant Coach Caleb Chowbay's 964.
