Pulaski, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team defeated Cumberland University 77-68 on Thursday.

"Cumberland is a great team, said Coach Dugan Lyne. "We knew what they were going to bring to the table. They are physical, and they have a couple of great scorers. We knew we had to be at the top of our game, and we defended our home court tonight. I am proud of our guys for their toughness and great teamwork."

   6 – Six players that battled on the court scored for UTS, with five scoring eight or more.

 12 – UTS had 12 assists, just one behind CU.

 89 – Firehawks connected on 16-of-18 free-throws, outshooting the Phoenix 89% to 60%.

   4 – Hancock scored 19 points for the fourth time this season (26, 20, 19).  

 24 – The duo of Hudson and Hancock combined for 24 of UTS's final 27 points.

944- Hudson's 26 points tonight increased his career total to 944 points. He sits just 20 points shy of Assistant Coach Caleb Chowbay's 964.
