Firehawks Overcome Eagles

Marietta, Ga.- The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team defeated Life University 66-52 on Monday.

"I thought we struggled to find ourselves for the majority of the first half, said Coach Dugan Lyne. "In the second half we really picked up out tempo and played much better. Tad played great in the post, and we had some really good defensive possessions in the second half. I am proud of our guys for supporting and encouraging each other as well as playing a great second half." 

FIREHAWK FACTS

  • Three Firehawks recorded 10 points or more. Tad Sivley 17, Brady Brown 12, CJ Greer 11.
  • UTS pulled down 34 rebounds, edging the home squad by three.
  • The Firehawks would record 12 steals.

NUMBERS GAME

  8 – Eight players that battled on the court scored for UTS, with five scoring seven or more.

 11 – UTS had 11 assists.

 19 – Firehawks connected on 19-of-25 FT, outshooting the Runnin' Eagles 76% to 73%

 17 – Sivley's 17 points were just three points short of a new career-high.

 12 – The Trio of Brown, Greer, and Sivley was perfect from the charity stripe, each contributing 4-of-4.
