Firehawks Restrain Lions

Pulaski, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team extended their winning streak to five in a row this afternoon with a 73-62 victory over Freed-Hardeman 9-4 (4-2).

"I couldn't be prouder of our guys," Coach Dugan Lyne said. "Today was a great win against a great Freed team. We stepped up our defense and held a high octane, volatile offense to 62 points. Our urgency and awareness were consistent and impeccable. What a great way to end the first half conference schedule!"

FIREHAWK FACTS

  • Four Firehawks recorded 10 points or more. Brady Brown 14, Mohamed ElGohary 14, Adarion Hudson 11, CJ Greer 11.
  • UTS pulled down 26 rebounds, nine more than Freed.
  • The Firehawks would record four blocks.
  • The Firehawks would start the game on a 10-0 run in the first three minutes.
  • UTS would deny the Lions any points in the final 3:52 of the match, assembling a 7-0 final run to improve to 10-3 (5-1).
