Firehawks are Impressive in Exhibition With Governors

Clarksville, Tenn. - In impressive fashion, the University of Tennessee Firehawks hang tough with NCAA DI Austin Peay 86-79 tonight.

The Firehawks tried to be the spoilers in the Gov's home opener, but a five point run in the final minute aided APSU to evade the Firehawks. The Firehawks trailed 40-36 at the break. UTS outshot the home team 54-50 percent from the floor and blew the Gov's away from range with 13 triples to APSU's 9.

"I thought we competed our tails off," Coach Dugan Lyne commented. The Firehawks had 20 assists as a team, and tied the Governors 32-32 in points in the paint.

UTS had three players in double figures: Adarion Hudson and Kavion Hancock each had 20 and Brady Brown tossed in 11.

"I am really proud of our guys for their fight. Hopefully we can clean a few things in the next couple of days and be ready to play two good teams this weekend," said Lyne.
