MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2024 Barnes & Noble College Competitive Cheer Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Anna Grace Grooms of UT Southern was named 2024 Barnes & Noble College Competitive Cheer Scholar-Athlete of the Year after posting a 3.7 GPA as a junior elementary education major and special education minor. She helped lead the Firehawks to the 2024 SSAC Championship and a trip to the 2024 NAIA National Championship.

·      To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions

·      Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school

·      Florida Memorial's Kendrick leads with a 3.76 GPA, while Griffiths posted a 3.6 mark and Ingram sits at 3.52
