GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The University of Tennessee Southern cheer team opened up their season on Saturday at the Tiger Invite. The Firehawks finished the first of two competitions in second place competing against seven other teams.

The Firehawks recorded a score of 88.23, just 1.05 behind the host Georgetown, who finished first.

UT Southern only competed in the first of two events that were scheduled for the double round competition.
