Janzen Powell enters his first year as an assistant coach at Tennessee Southern. 

Powell, a 2017 graduate of Albertville High School, began his collegiate career Bevill State Community College in 2019. Powell played two seasons at BSCC obtained an associate's degree in 2021. He was a member of the Firehawk baseball team for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He played in 59 games as a Firehawk averaging .250 at the plate. Powell amassed 14 extra base hits, including eight homeruns. Powell was named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic Team in 2023.
