PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team continued to swing the sticks well taking the rubber game of the series with Thomas 12-7 on Sunday. Coleman Siniard hit two homeruns and accumulated seven rbi on the day.

Thomas scored two runs in the first and a run in the second to lead 3-0. UT Southern would shave the lead to one via a Siniard two-run bomb that scored Kevin McCarthy. TU led 3-2 after two innings.

The Nighthawks added a pair of runs in the third to stretch out the lead back to three. The Firehawks exploded for six runs in the third. McCarthy singled up the middle scoring Devin Buckhalter. Josh Porter hit a sacrifice fly down the right field line driving in Noah Junker. Siniard launched a grand slam just missing the scoreboard in left scoring Blake Birdsong, McCarthy, and Rhett Birdsong. UTS led 8-5 after three innings.

In the fourth, Thomas scored a pair or runs to draw closer. The Firehawks answered with four runs to cement the series win. R. Birdsong singled to left center scoring Landon Rogers. Junker scored on a wild pitch. Porter singled up the middle scoring R. Birdsong. Siniard hit a sacrifice fly to right center driving in McCarthy. UTS led 12-7 after four innings.

Logan Parrott got the start and tossed 3.2 innings. Parrott allowed two earned runs on seven hits recording four strikeouts. Griffin Sahli took the win working 3.1 innings allowing one hit and striking out four. Weston Horton hurled the final two innings. Horton allowed two hits and struck out a pair.

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will travel to Columbia, Ky., for a mid-week rendezvous with Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday, April 16^th. The Firehawks and Blue Raiders met earlier in the season in Pulaski. UT Southern won 16-6 in seven innings. The First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
