MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Arderrius Townsend of Blue Mountain (Miss.) was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Tray Lacy of UT Southern was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

The awards are based on performance for the week of March 11-17.

Arderrius Townsend (Blue Mountain – JR – OF – Pontotoc, Miss.)

·      This is his third honor this season

·      Townsend hit .500 and slugged 1.389, while totaling five home runs, 19 RBIs and 11 runs scored on the week

·      He broke the BMCU single-season records for homers and RBIs in just 23 games. He homered in all but one game

Tray Lacy (UT Southern – SR – RHP – Winfield, Ala.)

·      This is his first-career weekly honor

·      Lacy tossed a one-hit, seven-inning shutout against No. 10 Faulkner

·      He struck out 10 in the ball game
