Firehawks Push No. 25 Lions to the Limit

HENDERSON, Tenn. -  The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team came up short against, former TranSouth and Mid-South foe, #25 Freed-Hardeman on Tuesday.

Freed- Hardeman scored a pair of runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

The Firehawks combined for six hits and left eight runners on the bags.

Caiden Rodgers got the start and tossed three innings. Rodgers held the Lions to two hits. Cody Edwards took the loss tossing Stella Gilbreath (2-2) got the start and pitched a complete game. She allowed two runs on one hit. Griffin Sahli hurled one inning allowing an unearned run. Ridge Raper and Josh Simmons tossed the final two innings neither surrendering a hit.

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will return to the friendly confines of Bobby Walker Field, hosting Point for a weekend series beginning on Friday, March 1st. The Firehawks and Skyhawks will duke it out at five p.m. on Friday and a twin bill is set to start on Saturday at one p.m.
