PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team split a pair with Johnson University today at Bobby Walker Field. UTS took game one 12-7 and dropped an 8-2 decision in game two.
GAME ONE
- Lance Pope was a one-man wrecking crew. He went 3-5 including a pair of doubles and a home run.
- Hayden Wright went 2-4 with a longball.
- Blake Birdsong also added a home run.
- Blaine Harris and Collin Huntley both added a pair of hits. Sam Bowling also had a single.
- UTS drew seven free passes while striking out four times.
- The Firehawks left nine on base.
- Drew Bailey picked up the win in 2.2 innings of relief work.
GAME TWO
- UTS scored two runs on eight hits. Brantley Holden and Wright each had a pair of hits. Camden Angell, Pope, Coleman Siniard, and Will Clemons each had a hit.
- Angell and Siniard had the extra-base hits each recording a double.
- The Firehawks left six on base.
- Cody Edwards took the loss falling to 1-3 on the year.
