Bio

Zach O'Kelley enters his third year as Sports Information Director at the University of Tennessee Southern and serves as the primary media contact for all 19 Firehawk athletic programs.

Hired as full-time director of sports information in the fall of 2021, O'Kelley oversees all communication for the Department of Athletics. His scope of duties includes serving as the official statistician, promoting teams and student-athletes on social media channels, overseeing gameday management efforts, producing gameday programs and materials, and acting as lead designer and content creator for utsfirehawks.com.

O'Kelley began his sports information career at Bethel University (Tenn.) in 2015, overseeing the production of live broadcasts of home events and coaches shows, scheduling student workers and gameday staff, serving as the official statistician, analyst for both football and basketball broadcasts, the voice of the BatCats, and production of gameday programs.

O'Kelley was a key part of the scoring staff for the Jackson Generals in 2019.

As a student-athlete, O'Kelley was a two-year member of the Wildcat men's bowling program. O'Kelley holds the program records for the highest spare percentage in a season at 86.9%, and most consecutive frames without an open at 189 spanning three tournaments. He compiled 4 top ten finishes. O'Kelley has bowled 15 sanctioned perfect games and three 800 series (851, 816, 857).

A native of Florence, Ala., O'Kelley earned his Bachelor of Science in business management with emphasis on accounting from Bethel in 2015.
