Bio

As a RedHawk

-1996-2014: Powell spent 17 seasons as the first-ever Volleyball coach in the four-year era of Martin Methodist; 373-305 (.550) career record; ranked No. 11 in NAIA among active wins leaders at time of her departure; led the RedHawks to three consecutive conference titles (2005-2007); three-time TranSouth Athletic Conference Coach of the Year; produced three NAIA All-Americans during her tenure; a member of the University of Houston Sports Hall of Fame; won Silver Medal with Team USA Volleyball in 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

After Graduation

-2000: After starting as an undergraduate at the University of Houston, Powell left to pursue professional opportunities in Volleyball both domestically and abroad; Powell received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Martin Methodist in 2000.

Present: Currently coaches at NCAA Division I institution Alabama A&M University in her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama.
