Bio

As a RedHawk

- 1953-1955: Lettered in both baseball and basketball while attending Martin Junior College.

After Graduation

- 1955-1957: Lettered in baseball while attending Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

- 1959-1962: Named to the All-Marine baseball team in 1959, 1961 and 1962, and was also named to the All-Interservice team in 1959, which included the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps Baseball teams throughout the world.

- 1978-1980: Number One Salesperson in the nation for Jostens, and was the first Salesperson to deliver over one million dollars in sales for Jostens. Designed and received orders for the 1970 NFL Champions the Baltimore Colts and the 1972 NFC Champions the Washington Redskins.

- 1982-1983: Received the honor for most outstanding volunteer in Metro Washington DC for the Toys for Tots Marine Corps program.

- 1991: Established the Marine Corps Sports Association which was approved by the Commandant of the Marine Corps and served as President for 10 years.

- 2000: Initiated and Directed the Toys for Tots program for Bedford, Marshall, Moore, Coffee and Franklin Counties which provided toys for over 800 children. Qualified for the Senior Olympics in Golf for the State of Maryland in 1997, 1999 and 2001. Represented West Virginia in Golf during the Senior Olympics and Won the Gold Medal in 1996, 1998 and 2000.

- 1996-1999: Maryland Senior Golf Net Champion.

- 1999-2000: Senior Champion at the Riverbend Country Club in Shelbyville, Tennessee
 
Served in the United States Marine Corps for 28 years and retired as Colonel and received the following awards and appointments:  Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Overseas Ribbon, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Naval Academy Blue & Gold Officer, Served on Marine Corps Marathon Committee, Served on the 1969 Inaugural Committee as a Military Aid.
