Andrea, Barksdale, and Schultz Sets Program Top Ten Times at Southern Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's cross country squad finished 26th in the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park on Friday. UT Southern was one of three non-NCAA institutions in the top 26.

Ole Miss paced all teams with 50 points and finished in a time of 1:25:16, while Doris Lemngole, from Alabama, captured the top podium spot with a 16:12 marker.

Alyssa Andrea led the Firehawk effort earning a 192th-place finish in 20:03. UT Southern ended the race in 1:43:46 and with 794 points. Andrea's 5k time today ranks second all-time in program history.

The rest of the UT Southern scorers finished taking places 215, 217, 220, and 257. Olivia Barksdale landed a time of 20:38, while Miriam Schulz ran at 20:41. Emma Vizina crossed the line at 20:45, with Amelia Worsley 54 seconds behind at 21:39.

Barksdale (9th) and Schulz (10th) both ran times that ranked in the top 10 in program history.
