PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team split the first two games of the series with Bethel tonight. The Cats took game one 10-4, but the Firehawks when yard back-to-back to walk off a 7-6 win in the second game.
GAME ONE
- Sydney Self, Bree Brady, Samantha King, Shelby Clifton, and Hayley Parrott each had a single hit.
- Both Brady and Parrott each had a double.
- The Firehawks left six runners on base.
- Two errors would plague UTS allowing eight unearned runs to the visitors.
- Kamryn Murdock took the loss dropping to 3-4 on the year.
GAME TWO
- UTS combined for seven runs on nine hits. Brady led the Firehawks with three hits. King and Emily Gable added a pair. Self and Clifton had one hit each.
- Brady and King hit back-to-back jacks in the seventh.
- The Firehawks left four on base.
- Brady amassed five RBI.
- King took the win in a complete game performace. She allowed six runs on 10 hits. King sat down eight Cats on strikes. She improved to 6-2 on the season.
